QPR 1-1 Watford

Watford missed the chance to move top of the Championship after labouring to a draw at Loftus Road. Ben Wilmot scored his first goal for the club which was cancelled out by Ilias Chair as the points where shared in West-London.

It took just three minutes for the game to come alive as the visitors raced into the lead.

Ken Sema registered another assist as his cross from a corner was turned in from just a few yards out by defender Wilmot.

The fast paced start to the game continued as The Hoops almost responded immediately, Macauley Bonne having his header cleared off the line by Etienne Capoue.

Watford then began to assert control of the game, threatening from a set-piece yet again as William Troost-Ekong headed wide from a Kiko Femenia cross.

Midway through the first half Andre Gray came closest to extending Watford’s lead but was denied by the faintest touch from Rangers keeper Seny Dieng.

Both sides made changes at the break which appeared to completely change the momentum of the match in the hosts favour.

Watford struggled to retain possesion after the break and failed to create any clear-cut chances as they switched to a 3-5-2 formation with Gray and Joao Pedro making way for Troy Deeney and Domingos Quina.

QPR scored their deserved equalizer with 15 minutes remaining after some neat play on the edge of the Watford penalty area resulted in Chair slotting past Ben Foster.

Lyndon Dykes thought he had earned the spoils for The Hosts in added time but it was ruled out for a clear handball.

The result means Watford slip to 5th with QPR remaining 18th.
