A battle in the South saw the Reds pick up another crucial 3 points against Gareth Ainsworth’s Wycombe Wanderers.

A quick start to the game saw the Reds’ go 1-0 up within 7 minutes as Bong’s sublime ball found Glenn Murray who chipped Allsop to score on his first start in the Garibaldi. The Red’s continued their attacking play against a struggling Wycombe side.
The game continued scrappily as you could tell that both teams were fighting for their championship status. A strong battle in midfield helped the Reds’ retain their lead whilst Wycombe heaped on the pressure.
Wycombe’s Uche Ikpeazu was unlucky to see his headed goal ruled offside by the linesman as he beat Bong in the air and slotted the ball past Brice Samba.
A hard fought first half saw the Reds’ go in ahead and looking like controlling the game. All that was left to do was keep control of the game and try to pick up their second 3 points on the road in a week.

Within 10 minutes the Reds’ had the opportunity to double their lead, after Glen Murray won a penalty, Murray also took and scored the penalty making it 2-0, despite Ryan Allsop getting a hand to the ball.
The game continued scrappily but Chris Hughton’s side never looked like conceding as they battled their way past the Blues. Anthony Knockaert then picked out the net from Joe Lolley’s cross as the Reds’ capitalised on a shaky, struggling Wycombe defence making it 3-0 to Forest at Adam’s Park.
The Reds’ continued to play forward, attacking football creating plenty of opportunities but didn’t convert anymore. Overall, a solid, convincing and rounded performance saw the Reds’ take all 3 points this afternoon in Wycombe.
