Full Time: Exeter 1-1 Newport
Half time: Exeter 1-0 Newport
The Grecians were yet again let down by bad refereeing but managed to survive with 9 men to pick up a much deserved point.
Exeter made 3 changes going into the match due to an injury to Maxted and Willmott being ineligible and Randall coming back from injury, but the city seemed bright and always looked like the better team.
Exeter started well until the 10th minute when Alex Hartridge had deemed to be the last man and brought down Newport striker Maynard and got sent off.
It looked like Exeter were fine with one less player as striker Ryan Bowman scored a brilliant goal to make it 1-0. But then in the 45 minute, Ryan Bowman was judge to go into a tackle with his elbow and was given a red card right before the break.
The second half was boring as it was all attack by Newport as Exeter tried to hold on. The City keeper and difference played brilliantly and it took until the 88th minute for Newport to score and it was a sloppy goal to concede.
In conclusion, I would take the 1 point but if we got 3 that would have been perfect.
My Man of the match would be Jokull Andresson for all his great saves which kept us in the game and my flop of the match would be Alex Hartridge for his sloppy Red card.
