Premier League: Sheffield United VS Southampton FC

Saints back to winning ways after beating the Blades by just two goals

Line Ups –

Southampton = Forster, Walker-Peters, Bednarek, Vestergaard, Bertrand, Armstrong, Diallo, Ward-Prowse, Takumi, Tella, Ings

Sheffield United = Ramsdale, Baldock, Ampadu, Bryan, Bogle, Lundstram, Norwood, Fleck, Stevens, Brewster, McGoldrick

Report:

Early on, Vestergaard plays a ball forward looking for Tella and a defensive mistake and with the keeper off his line, he takes on the shot but it fire straight over the bar.

Penalty! Foul from Ethan Ampadu on Tella and it is a spot kick in Southampton’s favour.

It is James Ward-Prowse who takes it and he slots it home bottom left no problem, sending the keeper in the opposite direction.

Opportunity for Sheffield to equalise. It is a misplaced pass from Diallo and McGoldrick is in and he tries the cheeky chip but Forster has no worries in catching it.

Another goal from Southampton and what a hit it is from Che Adams. Stuart Armstrong shoulders it down for Adams and on the half volley he smashes it top left leaving Ramsdale very shocked.

Great chance for the away side to triple their lead and it comes from a good shot from Tella who sends a low shot for the bottom right corner and it is saved by Ramsdale.

Once again, Saints dominating and a cross comes in from Bertrand looking for Minamino and reaching him who takes it on and sends it narrowly wide of the left post.

Great save from Ramsdale as Minamino flicks a ball in for Adams who runs it towards goal and takes the shot from a narrow angle and it is saved.

Full Time – Sheffield United 0 – 2 Southampton

Man Of The Match= Che Adams. So clinical on the ball and scored a screamer which could easily be goal of the season.
