Chelsea vs Manchester City: Match Report

Hakim Ziyech goals sends Chelsea to finals after defeated Man City 1-0.

The Blues looked like the more dangerous side in the first half. Their attackers all saw plenty of the ball and were involved.

They even nearly went a goal up when Hakim Ziyech scored in the fifth minute. However, VAR ruled the goal offside.

Chelsea had another great chance to go ahead at the 18th minute with a brilliant cross from Reece James who did well to pick out Ben Chilwell at the back post.

Chilwell had time but couldn’t get his volley was poor and he couldn’t get the shot on target. A great chance for Chelsea to pull ahead early.

City put on plenty of pressure towards the end of the half, but Chelsea was definitely the most threatening overall.

Chelsea’s goal came in the 55th minute through Ziyech. Mount put Werner in behind and the City keeper, Steffen, was off his line.

He made it easy for Werner to square it to Ziyech and give Chelsea the advantage.

A great ball from Chilwell put Ziyech one on one with Steffen soon after with a great ball over the top that Dias should have done better with.

A chance you would expect any Chelsea player to score was saved by Steffen. A big opportunity for the Blues to double their advantage and quite possibly put the game to bed.

City had a great chance to equalize through Ruben Dias. Rodri headed the ball across the goal after a great cross from Foden.

Man City kept up their pressure but it wasn’t enough to defeat Chelsea who played a great game today.

Chelsea looked like they even made it 2-0 at the end through Pulisic but his goal was overturned as it was offside.

Chelsea goes through to the finals of the FA Cup with a great chance to get Tuchel his first trophy in England. They are also in the semi-finals of the Champions League and still fighting for a place in the top four.
