INTRODUCTION…
The 4th most successful club in England, Everton are the definition of a sleeping giant. Without silverware since 1995, the club have enjoyed little-to-no highs during the Premier League era, surviving on the last day of the season twice during the mid-1990s and only breaking into the coveted ‘Top 4’ once. However, since the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti in December 2019, things have looked more positive for the Toffees and after a run of four consecutive Premier League victories at the start of the 2020/2021 campaign, there was some talk at Goodison of a potential push for Champions League football. Following three back-to-back defeats though, this chatter has since quietened. Whether the Blues can pick up their tremendous form after the international break remains to be seen. However, with a manager of Ancelotti’s pedigree at the helm and an attack boasting the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and a certain James Rodriguez, you would like to think the future is bright for the blue half of Merseyside.
